Yaeko Takemura

Born on January 11, 1980 in Tokorozawa, Saitama. [Takemura] has studied under Elisabeth Dvorak-Weisshaar, Rudolf Kehrer, Takayoshi Azuma, Emi Sato, Noriko Kanayama, Fumiko Nakayama, and Akira Jinno.

She received a diploma for the summer seminar at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2000. After she completed graduate school, she officially began performing based in Vienna, and she appeared as a soloist representing Japan at the 21st Chopin Festival organized in Austria in 2005. In the same year, after being chosen as one of Chanel Japan’s “first generation of artists” and returning to Japan, she participated in Chanel Pygmalion Days [Classical Concerts], and received enormous accolades for her solo concert performance at Chanel Ginza Hall [sic].

She had a spectacular debut with three title releases in 2008 including the solo album Yumemi, which had recordings of original compositions and the best of Chopin, and albums with classical interpretations of famous songs of Japanese pop artists.

She aroused much attention when she released her fourth album Non-stop Chopin in October 2009 along with J-Pop Classical Piano Selection in the following month.

With her strong, lucid composition skills, she is also involved in many compositions for others, and writes theme songs for TV programs and TV commercials.

In addition to her work in music, Takemura has been a regular personality on the radio program OTTAVA, and she has appeared in all forms of media; she is a new-style pianist who is now attracting the most attention.
